Unsere Gebete sind, das weiß ich, mit den Menschen in Beirut, die bei der kürzlichen Explosion so schreckliche Zerstörungen erlebt haben. Mögen die Beiruter die Kraft finden, wieder aufzustehen, und möge es auf allen Ebenen Unterstützung für sie geben. Sarida Brown, die europäische Vizepräsidentin für Sufi-Heilen, hat uns Übungen vorgeschlagen, und Tariq al-Olaimy vom Inayatiyya International Board hat zuverlässige Kontakte für die Übersendung benötigter Hilfsleistungen zusammengestellt.

Wie Sie wissen, bekräftigt der universelle Gottesdienst die Einheit des Geistes der Führung und die Vielfalt seiner Spuren und Zeichen durch die gesamte Geschichte und auf dem ganzen Planeten. In Europa wurde die Arbeit des Universellen Gottesdienstes auf dem ganzen Kontinent über viele lange Jahre von unserer geschätzten Freundin Zumurrud Butta inspirierend geleitet. Nach einer äußerst produktiven Amtszeit tritt Zumurrud Butta nun von ihrem Amt als europäische Vizepräsidentin des Universellen Gottesdienstes zurück. Zumurrud wird weiterhin in der Lehrerschaft von Suluk tätig sein, als Leiterin der Retreat-Konzentration im deutschsprachigen Raum, als geschätzte Guide, Retreat-Guide und Lehrerin in der Inneren Schule sowie als Siraj im Universellen Gottesdienst. Ich hoffe, Sie alle schließen sich mir an in meiner aufrichtigen Dankbarkeit gegenüber Zumurrud für alles, was sie für unsere Bewegung getan hat und weiterhin tut.

Ich wünsche Ihnen, liebe Freundinnen und Freunde, in diesen letzten Sommerwochen Leichtigkeit und Frieden. Für viele von uns sind dies ruhigere Tage, aber schon bald wird wieder erneut Aktivität nach außen einsetzen. Am 6. September werden wir uns zu einem eintägigen Wiedereintritts-Retreat zusammenfinden. Am darauf folgenden Wochenende werden unsere Sonntagstreffen mit einer besonderen Feier zum Urs- und Hejiratstag von Pirzadi-Shahida Noor fortgesetzt, an der unser guter Freund und Noors Biograph, Shrabani Basu, mitwirken wird. Am selben Tag werden diejenigen, denen es möglich ist, in Dachau zusammenkommen, um Noor am Ort ihres Martyriums zu gedenken. Am darauffolgenden Tag, Montag, dem 14., wird Noors Stück ‘Aède of the Ocean and Land’ in einer hervorragenden internationalen Besetzung unter der Regie unserer griechischen Sufi-Schwester Anwari Elli Papakonstantinou und mit Musik der berühmten Komponistin Shirish Korde virtuell inszeniert.

Biographie von Qutbuddin Urs Schellenberg
Der neue Vizepräsident des Universellen Gottesdienstes in Europa, Qutbuddin Urs Schellenberg, ist Dozent für Religion und Ethik an der Pädagogischen Hochschule in Zürich. Er ist sowohl Vizepräsident der Inayatiyya Schweiz, Vizepräsident des Zenith-Instituts als auch Vertreter der Geistigen Schule in Zürich. Qutbuddin hat ein besonderes Interesse an den inneren Wegen innerhalb religiöser Traditionen sowie an der sich wandelnden Rolle der Religion in der heutigen Gesellschaft und im Leben der Menschen. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und zwei Töchtern in Zürich.

“Ich fühle mich selbst, wenn ich allein bin.”
Das Selbst hat vier Schichten: das Körper-Selbst, das Geist-Selbst, das Seelen-Selbst und das Göttliche Selbst.
Das Körper-Selbst besteht aus Nahrung. Es wird geboren, wächst, welkt und stirbt. Wenn wir in den Spiegel schauen, sehen wir das, wofür wir uns halten. Aber das ist nur teilweise richtig.
Das Geist-Selbst, das aus Gedanken besteht, transzendiert den Körper. Der Gedanke kann einen Ozean in einem Augenblick überqueren. Wie wir denken, also sind wir. Wir sind Konstrukte des Bewusstseins. Aber auch das ist nur teilweise wahr.
Das Seelen-Selbst lebt jenseits der Gedanken. Die Seele ist reines, leuchtendes Gewahrsein, eine Welle in der Lichtkaskade, die aus dem Absoluten herausströmt.
Das Göttliche Selbst ist das Selbst aller Selbste. In diesem sind wir alle für immer vereint. Aus ihm ist alles gekommen, zu ihm kehrt alles zurück, und in ihm leben und bewegen sich alle Dinge und haben ihr Sein.
Im Vergessen überdeckt der Körper den Verstand, der Verstand überdeckt die Seele, und die Seele überdeckt das Einzige Sein. Im Erinnern enthüllt der Körper den Verstand, der Verstand die Seele und die Seele das Einzige Sein.
Das Erinnern kommt mit dem Alleinsein. Der Rückzug aus dem Vielen offenbart das Eine. Noch wunderbarer ist es, allein in der Menge zu sein. Dann zeigt sich das Eine in allem und jedem. Kein anderer bleibt: Man ist immer bei sich selbst.

The prayers of all of us, I know, are with the people of Beirut, who have suffered such terrible destruction in the recent explosion. May the Beirutese find the strength to rise anew, and may there be support for them on all levels. As you know, Universal Worship affirms the unity of the Spirit of Guidance and the multiplicity of its traces and signs throughout history and across the planet. In Europe, the work of Universal Worship has been inspiringly stewarded continent-wide for many long years by our esteemed friend Zumurrud Butta. Having completed a tremendously productive tenure, Zumurrud is now stepping down as European Vice President of Universal Worship. Zumurrud will continue to serve on the faculty of Suluk, as leader of the retreat concentration in German-speaking lands, as a revered guide, retreat guide, and teacher in the Inner School, and as a Siraj in the Universal Worship. I hope you will all join me in conveying sincere gratitude to Zumurrud for all that she has done, and continues to do, for our movement.

I wish you, dear friends, ease and peace in these last weeks of the season. These are quieter days for many of us, but renewed outward activity will begin again before long. On September 6th we will gather for a one-day Reentry retreat. The following weekend our Sunday sessions will resume with a special celebration of Pirzadi-Shahida Noor’s Urs and Hejirat Day featuring our good friend, andNoor’s biographer, Shrabani Basu. On the same day, those who are able will gather at Dachau to commemorate Noor at the place of her martyrdom. The following day, Monday the 14th, Noor’s play Aède of the Ocean and Land will be virtually staged by an outstanding international cast, directed by our Greek Sufi sister Anwari Elli Papakonstantinou and with music by the celebrated composer Shirish Korde.

Biography of Qutbuddin Urs Schellenberg
The new Vice President of the Universal Worship in Europe, Qutbuddin Urs Schellenberg is a Senior Lecturer for Religion and Ethics at the University for Teacher Education in Zürich. He simultaneously serves as Vice President of the Inayatiyya Switzerland, Vice President of Zenith Institute, and as a Representative of the Esoteric School in Zürich. Qutbuddin has a special interest in the inner paths within religious traditions as well as in the transforming role of religion in today’s societies and in people’s lives. He lives in Zürich with his wife and two daughters.

“I feel myself when I am by myself.”
The self has four layers: the body-self, the mind-self, the soul-self, and the Divine Self.
The body-self is made of food. It is born, grows, ails, and dies. When we look in the mirror, what we see is who we think we are. But this is only partially true.
The mind-self, made of thought, transcends the body. Thought can cross an ocean in an instant. As we think, so we are. We are constructs of consciousness. But this, too, is only partially true.
The soul-self lives beyond thought. The soul is pure luminous awareness, a wave in the cascade of light pouring out of the Absolute.
The Divine Self is the self of all selves. In it, we are all united forever. From it everything has come, to it everything returns, and within it all things live and move and have their being.
In forgetfulness, the body covers the mind, the mind covers the soul, and the soul covers the Only Being. In remembrance, the body reveals the mind, the mind reveals the soul, and the soul reveals the Only Being.
Remembrance comes with being alone. Withdrawal from the many discloses the One. More wonderful still is being alone in the crowd. Then, the One shows itself in everyone and everything. No others remain: one is always by oneself.
